Milestone MX Park, located in Riverside, California, is a well-known motocross destination for riders in the Inland Empire and beyond. As one of Southern California’s established MX facilities, it primarily caters to practice and open riding, offering a variety of track options designed to accommodate everyone from beginners to seasoned racers. Expect a focus on providing a place to hone your skills rather than hosting large-scale professional events, although youth racing is a common sight. While specific track layouts change, you can typically find a dedicated beginner track, a vet track geared towards more experienced riders, and at least one or two larger, more challenging motocross tracks. This makes Milestone a great spot for families or groups with riders of varying abilities. Given its location, anticipate dry, hard-packed conditions for much of the year and be sure to check for water schedules or recent track maintenance reports before heading out, as dust can be a factor during drier periods.

Know Before You Go

Open practice days
Most MX parks run open practice on weekends for $25-50. Sign in at the gate, sign a waiver, and ride your allotted moto groups (typically 30 min on, 30 off).
Required gear
Helmet (DOT or Snell M-rated), goggles, gloves, chest protector, knee/shin guards, boots, and a full-sleeve jersey. Most tracks won't let you ride without all of it.
Class structure
Tracks separate riders by bike size (50cc / 65cc / 85cc / 250cc / 450cc) and by skill (beginner / novice / intermediate / pro). Sessions rotate through the day.
Track conditions
Tracks get watered before sessions and groomed between motos. Soft loam in the morning hardens into ruts by afternoon — adjust suspension and tire pressure.
