Ironman Raceway, just outside Crawfordsville, Indiana, is a well-regarded motocross track that's earned its place as the Pro Motocross season finale. Situated on what was once farmland in Montgomery County, the layout is known for being technical, forcing riders to adapt and find the fastest way through a variety of obstacles. Expect to see a good mix of elevation changes and strategically placed jumps and turns, which tend to open up several line choices, making for exciting racing and passing opportunities. While best known for the AMA National event, Ironman Raceway also caters to amateur racing throughout the season. If you're planning to spectate, be prepared for a full day of action, with multiple classes and races to watch. Because it's built on open land, finding a good vantage point is usually pretty easy. Keep in mind that Crawfordsville is a small town, so booking accommodations in advance, especially for the National, is a smart move.

Know Before You Go
- Open practice days
- Most MX parks run open practice on weekends for $25-50. Sign in at the gate, sign a waiver, and ride your allotted moto groups (typically 30 min on, 30 off).
- Required gear
- Helmet (DOT or Snell M-rated), goggles, gloves, chest protector, knee/shin guards, boots, and a full-sleeve jersey. Most tracks won't let you ride without all of it.
- Class structure
- Tracks separate riders by bike size (50cc / 65cc / 85cc / 250cc / 450cc) and by skill (beginner / novice / intermediate / pro). Sessions rotate through the day.
- Track conditions
- Tracks get watered before sessions and groomed between motos. Soft loam in the morning hardens into ruts by afternoon — adjust suspension and tire pressure.
