High Point Raceway, nestled in the rolling hills near Mount Morris, Pennsylvania, is a motocross destination. Since 1977, it's been a stop on the AMA Pro Motocross National circuit, drawing top riders and dedicated fans to the southwestern corner of the state. The track is known for its challenging layout built into the natural terrain, with significant elevation changes that test both rider skill and machine. Expect a hillside venue with good sightlines in most areas, but be prepared for some walking and possibly standing room depending on the event and crowd size. Beyond the pro races, High Point also hosts amateur racing events throughout the year, giving local and regional riders a chance to compete on the same hallowed ground. The atmosphere during a national weekend is electric, and the steep hills create a natural amphitheater effect. If you’re serious about motocross and want to experience a classic, no-frills track with a rich history, High Point is a must-see. Just remember to wear comfortable shoes and be ready for a day outdoors.

Know Before You Go
- Open practice days
- Most MX parks run open practice on weekends for $25-50. Sign in at the gate, sign a waiver, and ride your allotted moto groups (typically 30 min on, 30 off).
- Required gear
- Helmet (DOT or Snell M-rated), goggles, gloves, chest protector, knee/shin guards, boots, and a full-sleeve jersey. Most tracks won't let you ride without all of it.
- Class structure
- Tracks separate riders by bike size (50cc / 65cc / 85cc / 250cc / 450cc) and by skill (beginner / novice / intermediate / pro). Sessions rotate through the day.
- Track conditions
- Tracks get watered before sessions and groomed between motos. Soft loam in the morning hardens into ruts by afternoon — adjust suspension and tire pressure.
