Dade City Motocross Park is a central Florida motocross venue located in, naturally, Dade City. Situated in Pasco County, just northeast of Tampa, it's a popular spot for amateur racing, particularly in the AMA District 17 circuit. Given the sandy soil typical of this region of Florida, expect a track that gets rutted and challenging as the day progresses. Unlike some of the more hard-packed tracks further north, Dade City's soil rewards riders who can handle soft conditions and maintain momentum. What sets Dade City Motocross Park apart is its commitment to year-round racing and practice. Thanks to Florida's mild climate, you can pretty much count on riding opportunities throughout the year, even when tracks further north are snowed in. While the summers can be brutally hot and humid, early morning and late afternoon sessions are still manageable. Given its focus on amateur racing and regular practice days, it's an ideal venue for riders of all skill levels, from beginners looking to gain experience to more seasoned racers preparing for regional championships. If you're looking for consistent track time in a sandy Florida environment, Dade City Motocross Park is worth checking out.

Know Before You Go

Open practice days
Most MX parks run open practice on weekends for $25-50. Sign in at the gate, sign a waiver, and ride your allotted moto groups (typically 30 min on, 30 off).
Required gear
Helmet (DOT or Snell M-rated), goggles, gloves, chest protector, knee/shin guards, boots, and a full-sleeve jersey. Most tracks won't let you ride without all of it.
Class structure
Tracks separate riders by bike size (50cc / 65cc / 85cc / 250cc / 450cc) and by skill (beginner / novice / intermediate / pro). Sessions rotate through the day.
Track conditions
Tracks get watered before sessions and groomed between motos. Soft loam in the morning hardens into ruts by afternoon — adjust suspension and tire pressure.
